Vivian Warren, Master Cruise Counsellor, Luxury Cruise Specialist

Vivian was raised in Sault Ste. Marie in a family that made travel a priority. She travelled often to Europe, particularly England, and growing up experienced several transatlantic voyages and a river cruise along the Rhine.  For many years she was a stay-at-home mom of two sons, but she remained active in the volunteer community with church, choirs, and the Lindsay Kinsmen Band.

Vivian joined us when we opened in September 2006 and has become an avid cruiser - over 30 cruises on 16 different cruise lines and counting!  Vivian's goal is to travel on as many different cruise lines and ships to as many different destinations as possible so that she can provide her clients with her own personal insights.

According to Vivian, "If I am an expert in anything, it is in seeking to understand my client's priorities, then gathering from my ever-evolving education and experience (both personal, and that gained from feedback of clients and other agents) the necessary cruising information to meet, and hopefully exceed, my client's travel wish list.  I have a reputation for being too thorough, and for agonizing over the small details, but I would not sleep at night thinking I'd left a stone unturned when it comes to giving my client the best cruise planning experience."

Always looking to expand her horizons, Vivian took her oldest son with her on a 7-night cruise from Southampton to the Norwegian Fjords on the  Caribbean Princess .  She was so overwhelmed by the incredible scenery that she booked a return trip with her husband on the new ocean going  Viking Sky  in June 2017 sailing from Bergen, Norway to London with a pre-cruise extension in Iceland.  They were above the Arctic Circle experiencing 24-hours of sunlight during the summer solstice.  The scenery was so incredible (they took 3,900 photos) that this became her favourite cruise to date!  It also meant that Vivian has now been from one end of the earth to the other, having sailed to both the Arctic and Antarctic.

Last year, Vivian made a return trip to Hawaii with friends on the newly refurbished NCL Pride of America, followed by a family cruise on the NCL Getaway to some new ports (for her) in the Western Caribbean.   So far this year, she has cruised the Caribbean on the Crown Princess and sailed from Halifax to New York on Hurtigruten.

Early in 2014 Vivian took a trip-of-a-lifetime 'Penguin Cruise' to South America and Antarctica on the Celebrity Infinity with a pre-cruise extension to Iguazu Falls.  Awed by the cultural experiences and incredible scenery, this was a trip of extremes, from the sizzling heat on Copacabana beach in Rio de Janeiro and  the humidity at Iguazu Falls to the cold, wind and snow they encountered sailing the waters around Antarctica - in fact Vivian surprised fellow guests by making a snowman and snow angels on deck!  This trip was so incredible that she was having a tough time deciding where to cruise next, fearing that no other destination will come close to this experience.

But, Vivian was able to check another cruise line and destination off her list when she cruised on the American Queen,  an authentic sternwheeler paddleboat, on the Ohio and Mississippi rivers.

Vivian was granted special travel agent permission to board, tour and have lunch onboard the Pearl Seas' Pearl Mist when this small luxury cruise ship was docked in Little Current (near Manitoulin Island) on a Great Lakes cruise.  If anyone is looking for something unique, Vivian can fill you in on this new cruise line and ship.

Vivian hosted a 10-night cruise on the Holland America Noordam that stopped at ports that Vivian has never visited in the Southern Caribbean, including Half Moon Cay, Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao and Samana (DR).  Her favourite?  Although she LOVED the white powdery sand of Half Moon Cay, and was impressed with Bonaire, it was Curacao (where she did a private full island tour)!

Her 2013 cruising experience included a 5-night family Western Caribbean New Year's cruise on the Celebrity Constellation, where they had a blast racing on the America's Cup "True North" (photos right), a 7-night Bahamas cruise from New York on the new Norwegian Breakaway, where Vivian conquered her fears and 'walked the plank' (photo right), and a 'bucket-list' 11-night Hawaiian islands cruise from Honolulu to Ensenanda on the Celebrity Solstice (photo right).

In 2012, Vivian and her family cruised on the Royal Caribbean's Allure of the Seas on a 7-night Western Caribbean cruise.  Then in October she spent three days in Paris followed by a French Riviera wine country river cruise through Burgundy & Provence on Uniworld's River Royale (photos left).  She barely had time to unpack before she was off to sail on her new favourite cruise line - she was selected for a North American inaugural cruise on the the new Celebrity Reflection

Other cruises include a 12-night Canada/New England cruise on Oceania's Regatta, a 12-night Mediterranean cruise on the Ruby Princess and a 7-night cruise to Bermuda on the Celebrity Summit.  In 2009 Vivian and her family took a 25th anniversary celebration cruise/tour complete with a vow renewal ceremony with the Captain on the Holland America Ryndam 12-night Alaska cruise & tour from Fairbanks to Vancouver.  They panned for gold, ziplined and went white water rafting (photos left).

Vivian has also taken numerous trips to the Caribbean aboard various cruise lines including Disney, Royal Caribbean, Princess, Norwegian, and a honeymoon cruise on the Carnival Mardi Gras (photo left).

Having enjoyed her first luxury cruise line experience on Regent Seven Seas' Voyager in 2007 to the Western Caribbean, her April 2010 cruise on Silversea's Silver Cloud to the Southern Caribbean was a welcome reminder of the ‘suite’ life.

In addition to her vast personal cruising experience, Vivian has also attended CLIA  cruising conferences in Fort Lauderdale and Vancouver.  These conventions offer seminars, panel discussions with cruise line executives, a trade show and several ship inspections.  Dedicated to continuing education, Vivian has travelled to New York, Quebec City and Seattle for ship inspections.  She has also achieved 'Master Cruise Counsellor' status and a 'Luxury Cruise Specialist' designation through CLIA.  She has been consistently recognized as our "Cruise Counsellor of the Year" for her dedication, outstanding customer service and sales achievements.

Among her favourite cruise moments was being onboard for the official christening of the Royal Caribbean mega ship Oasis of the Seas and sharing a "Kodak moment” with "Captain Stubing” of The Love Boat at a cruise convention in Florida.

Vivian is thrilled to be working in an industry and career that brings her such joy, learning opportunities and chances to fill many more photo albums!  She loves to share her insights, cruising hints and tips, and of course, photos.
